Aftercare dermal anchor

The Dermal Anchor is a T-shaped object and is made out of high quality titanium. The horizontal pierce of the T is placed under the skin. The vertical bit with screw-thread out of the skin. After the healing a lot of different piercing jewellery can be screwed on.

A Dermal Anchor is prone to rejection, and might not last you a lifetime. For some people the dermal rejects after a year, while some people can enjoy it for 10 years. Keep a close eye on it even after it is healed, and contact your piercer in case of irritation of migration.

The Dermal piercing can be placed almost everywhere. Bodyparts like arms, wrists and hands have less chance of survival, because you might catch on your piercing more easily. By bumping the piercing the odds of irritation, inflammations and rejection are much bigger. Skinfolds such as in between the breasts, elbow cavities or armpits also are not suitable because of the moving skin.

The implant grows into the skin, and can only be removed by the piercer.

In case of extreme redness, pain, swelling, bleeding, pus, colorchange or rejection always contact your physician or Queen of Rings.

Don’t touch the piercing, and prevent any bumping. Pay extra close attention playing sports.

Cover the wound with a clean pressure bandaid for the first 10 days.

Avoid contact with swimming water and don’t take baths or visit saunas during the healing period.

Wash the dermal two times a day with saline solution. Gently press it with a clean piece of gauze to dry it.

Don’t use any alcohol, sterilon, dettol or other desinfectants on the wound. This is too harsh and might cause early rejection.

After about two months the skin has gone through the first healing fase, and the dermal is stuck in the skin. It is advised to start massaging it to make sure it stays flush to the skin. Gently press a clean finger on the dermal, and make a rotating movement. This lessens the forming of scar tissue.

The duration of the healing is about 3 to 4 months.
